Rugby Union – Townsend opts to rotate his squad

Head coach Gregor Townsend has made a host of changes to the Scotland side that lost to South Africa for Saturday’s match against Argentina.

Six of the changes are in the pack, with Allan Dell, Fraser Brown, Simon Berghan, Grant Gilchrist, Jamie Ritchie and Josh Strauss all coming into the team.
In the backs, Finn Russell moves to inside-centre as Adam Hastings starts at fly-half while Blair Kinghorn will play on the wing.
“We’ve been conscious of rotating the squad to enable as many players as possible to be in the best physical condition for each contest,” said Townsend.
Scotland clinched an impressive 44-15 victory against Argentina in the summer and are 4/11 with Bet365 to beat the Pumas again this weekend, while Townsend’s team are 11/1 to win the 2019 Six Nations.
