Soccer – Walker urges Citizens to step up

Defender Kyle Walker believes Manchester City have players able to help cover for the possible lengthy absence of Kevin de Bruyne.

Belgium international midfielder De Bruyne sustained an injury to his right knee during training with the Citizens on Wednesday and initial reports suggest that he could be sidelined for between two and three months.
And, while admitting that the loss of the talented De Bruyne will be a big blow, England star Walker believes that there are other players at the club who can step up to fill the gap.
He told reporters: “Kevin is a great player and it’s just unfortunate that it’s happened to him in training, but there’s more than enough depth in the squad to cope.
“We don’t just rely on one player. It’s a team game and whoever steps in will do well. Obviously it’s a big loss, but we’ve got more than enough cover.”
City are priced at 8/13 with Bet365 to retain their Premier League title this season.
