Soccer – Allegri gears up for crunch Napoli visit

Massimiliano Allegri refuses to subscribe to the theory Juventus need only stop Gonzalo Higuain to have any chance of beating Napoli in Saturday’s huge Serie A showdown at Juventus Stadium.

The Argentina striker has scored an astonishing 24 goals in as many appearances in Serie A so far this season and takes on Allegri’s in-form defending champions having scored in his last four games straight – and 10 in his last nine appearances.
“Napoli are not all about Higuain,” the Juventus coach said at a news conference. “Higuain’s having the best season of his career, but it’s not just him we’ll have to look out for.
“They have the league’s second-best defence and have scored more goals than any other team.”
Juventus initially struggled to cope with the summer departures of Carlos Tevez, Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal but have recently won 14 games straight in Serie A to trail their Naples rivals by only two points.
The Scudetto chasers meet on Saturday in what is shaping up to be a potentially title-defining showdown and Allegri says it is essential his players are on the front-foot against their rivals.
“Napoli are in great form and playing well,” he told reporters. “It will be a great game from a tactical and technical point of view. We’ll need to be controlled in our approach and put in a great performance.”
Napoli are quoted 1/1 by Bet365 in the Serie A outright winner betting and champions Juventus are available to back at 8/11.
