Cricket – Morgan excited by Buttler form

England one-day captain Eoin Morgan believes that Jos Buttler can enjoy a great series against South Africa.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Buttler, who has lost his Test place to Jonny Bairstow, opened up the five-match ODI series against the Proteas with 105 from 76 balls in Bloemfontein, a knock which propelled England to 399-9 from their 50 overs.
The hosts were going well at 250-5 in the 34th over when rain forced an early end to the game, with England left as 39-run winners under the D/L Method.
And, having seen Buttler also smash a century in the final one-dayer against Pakistan earlier this winter, Morgan is excited about what his team-mate could achieve in the next four games, with Buttler 9/2 with Bet365 to be top England batsman in Bloemfontein.
He told reporters: “Jos was phenomenal. He is someone who can certainly change the game. It really does set up what I hope is a great series for him.
“Jos is the only player we have in the changing room who is capable of getting a 40 or 50-ball hundred. I have played with a lot of guys around the world and he is up there.”
