Soccer – Pogba excited by pursuit of Napoli

Juventus made it 11 straight wins in Serie A on Sunday but highly-rated France midfielder Paul Pogba has warned his team-mates there is nothing to celebrate yet and says they must not relent in their pursuit of Napoli.

The champions appeared to be out of the race to defend last season’s Scudetto when they won only three of their opening 10 games at the start of the new campaign, but the Turin giants have hit their straps and are now only two points behind the table-topping Naples club.
Paulo Dybala’s 77th-minute winner against struggling capital club Roma keeps the Old Lady in the chase for the fifth straight Scudetto and playmaker Pogba says they have to keep their momentum going.
“It was a very difficult match, we tried and tried, then changing the level of our play we scored a very important goal for the win,” Pogba told Mediaset Premium.
Juve won the Serie A and Coppa Italia double last season – and reached the Champions League final – while many blame the summer departures of Carlos Tevez, Arturo Vidal and Andrea Pirlo for their poor start to the season.
“Let’s not forget that at the start of the season people said we were Serie B players, that we couldn’t play football,” he said.
“Now we are doing much better, but we are still nobody, we’ve achieved nothing, we are not top of the table and therefore we must continue like this.
“We’ll take it one game at a time.”
Juventus host Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-finals on Wednesday chasing a ninth win in all competitions and are quoted 11/8 by Bet365 in the outright betting.
