Soccer – De Bruyne injury mars City’s triumph

Manuel Pellegrini is optimistic that Kevin de Bruyne will be able to play again this season after the Manchester City star had to be leave the pitch on a stretcher in the closing stages of the Capital One Cup victory against Everton.

The Belgium international came off the bench in the semi-final second leg encounter and scored once and created Sergio Aguero’s goal as City won the game 3-1 to seal a 4-3 aggregate success.
They will play Liverpool at Wembley in next month’s Capital One Cup final and are 8/13 with Bet365 to lift the trophy.
“I’m optimistic he won’t be out for the rest of the season,” Pellegrini said. “We’ll see how important the damage is. It’s not the cruciate ligament.
“The doctor thinks, but he cannot be sure, that it’s a problem in his medial ligament.”
City visit Aston Villa in the FA Cup on Saturday and are 7/1 to win the fourth round clash 2-0.
