Rugby Union – No Six Nations action for injured Bowe

Ireland and Ulster winger Tommy Bowe has admitted that his recovery from a cruciate knee ligament injury is going slower than he had expected and he will not be able to play in this year’s Six Nations.

The 31-year-old sustained the serious injury during Ireland’s World Cup quarter-final loss to Argentina but had hoped to be fit enough to feature against Wales in Dublin on 7th February.
However Bowe, who has represented his country on 67 occasions, said: “Unfortunately it’s a slow process and to rule yourself out of the Six Nations is disappointing.
“I have to concentrate on getting myself back to where I was and there’s no point in rushing it.”
Ireland are 11/4 with Bet365 to win the Six Nations outright, while Ulster are 33/1 to win the European Rugby Champions Cup this season.
