Cricket – Cook eyes hard work ahead

England captain Alastair Cook admits his team have a lot of work to do if they want to become the best Test side in the world.

Cook was speaking after seeing the Three Lions heavily beaten by 280 runs in the fourth and final Test in South Africa, although an overall 2-1 series victory remains a major achievement.
And the England skipper accepts that there is much to ponder ahead of a summer of Test cricket which includes series against both Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
Cook told reporters: “Today is a blow and shows how much work we still have to do. We’re nowhere near the finished article.
“A lot of the time, under pressure, we produce outstanding performances – that’s the really exciting thing. This is just a blip and incredibly frustrating.”
England are now 3/1 with Bet365 to win the 2017/18 Ashes series outright in Australia, having been whitewashed 5-0 the last time they headed Down Under.
