Boxing – Mayweather Sr taunts Pacquiao over Marquez

Floyd Mayweather Sr has suggested Manny Pacquiao has yet to fully recover from his brutal knockout by Juan Manuel Marquez and predicted Saturday’s blockbuster with Floyd Mayweather is “already won”.

Filipino superstar Pacquiao takes on unbeaten American ring great Mayweather on Saturday at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas in what is being billed as the richest fight in history.
The 36-year-old was knocked out cold in the sixth round of his fourth instalment with Mexico favourite Marquez in 2012 and, despite beating the likes of Brandon Rios, Tim Bradley and Chris Algieri since, Mayweather Sr believes Pacquiao is not the same fighter.
“Once you get hit like he did by Marquez and your ass goes to sleep, it won’t take too many more punches before it happens again. He’s gone,” Mayweather Sr told reporters.
“Anyone who has been in boxing long enough knows what I’m talking about. I don’t know what round it will happen in, but when he gets hit like that again, it will happen again. Simple.”
Mayweather is looking to protect his perfect 47-0 record against six-weight world champion Pacquiao and the fighter’s father has bullishly predicted his son will make light work of his opponent.
“To be honest with you, I don’t think it’s going to be much of a fight. The fight is already won. Trust me,” he added.
Floyd Mayweather is currently priced 8/15 by Bet365 in the fight prices betting and Manny Pacquiao is available to back in the same market at 7/4.
