Soccer – Pellegrini wins Zabaleta’s backing

Pablo Zabaleta believes the players should take their share of the blame for Manchester City’s disappointing season.

The Argentina international defender has leapt to the defence of under-fire City boss Manuel Pellegrini, who won the Premier League and the Capital One Cup in his first season at the club.
However, City have been too inconsistent to mount a successful defence of their league title this term and suffered an early exit from the Champions League.
Zabaleta said: “The manager deserves more respect from everyone. He came last season, he won the League and the Capital One Cup. We cannot blame just the manager for this moment.
“Individual players have not been great in the whole season. Everyone is responsible – when you don’t win titles it can be a little bit frustrating for everyone.”
Manchester City are 11/4 with Bet365 to win the 2015/16 Premier League title outright and 10/1 to beat Tottenham 1-0 this weekend.
