Rugby League – Wane hails Tomkins return

Wigan Warriors head coach Shaun Wane is delighted that Sam Tomkins will rejoin the Super League outfit next season.

The 26-year-old England international has decided to cut short his time in the NRL with New Zealand Warriors and has opted to rejoin Wigan, despite interest from Warrington Wolves, who were beaten 30-20 by Wigan on Thursday evening.
Wane is delighted to be able to welcome another key player back to the club, following the recent returns of Joel Tomkins and Lee Mossop.
He said after the win over Warrington at the DW Stadium: “Once I heard Sam was looking to come back to England next year I knew we had to pull out all the stops to have him here. He is one of our own and a truly world-class player.
“Sam knows what we are all about here at Wigan. He understands our culture and our systems and will slot perfectly back into the squad.”
Wigan, who are 3/1 with Bet365 to win the Grand Final this season, have now won four of their last five Super League games.
