Cricket – Root seeks back-to-back victories

England batsman Joe Root wants to beat West Indies in Barbados and go into the summer series against New Zealand and Australia with a lot of momentum.

The Yorkshire star is keen to secure a 2-0 series win in the Caribbean after his unbeaten 182 went a long way to helping England win the second Test by nine wickets.
Root is 7/2 with Bet365 to be his side’s top batsman in the first innings of the third Test against West Indies, which England are 4/6 to win.
Root said: “We’re here to win the series. We played well last week and managed a fantastic victory in Grenada. It would be such a shame for it to stop there.
“We want to go away from this tour 2-0 up by winning in Barbados as well.”
