Cricket – Cardiff to host KP’s return to county action

Kevin Pietersen is set to make his first County Championship appearance of the season for Surrey against Glamorgan.

The 34-year-old has returned to Surrey after being told earlier this year by incoming ECB chairman Colin Graves that all players would be judged without prejudice on their runs and wickets at domestic level when it came to England selection.
Pietersen, 5/2 with Bet365 to be Surrey’s top batsman in County Championship Div 2 this year, scored 170 against Oxford University’s students earlier this month.
He hurt his hand while fielding in that game but is expected to have recovered in time for Sunday’s start of the encounter against Glamorgan, 25/1 to win the NatWest T20 Blast outright this year.
