Snooker – Williams aims to shock O’Sullivan

Mark Williams is hoping that he can finally beat Ronnie O’Sullivan when the two men meet in the second round of the World Championship.

The 37-year-old Welshman beat Liu Chuang in the first round at Sheffield but has lost three times to O’Sullivan, who is 5/1 with Bet365 to win the tournament, in the last six years at The Crucible.
Williams, 16/1 to win the World Championship, said of the 25-frame clash against O’Sullivan: “I’ve been owing him one for 10 years. Let’s hope this is the time I beat him.
“You enjoy the occasion but he always seems to play well against me. Even the last time, when he didn’t play too well, he still beat me. I need to play better than that to have any chance.”
